Camera and Internal Storage
Oppo has used a 13 MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. Furthermore, there is a 5 MP front shooter for clicking selfies and making video calls. The camera sounds to be on par with those of the other smartphones in this price bracket making it a standard offering in terms of imaging. Internal storage is 16 GB that is what most of the other smartphones in this price bracket get, but there is no option to expand it as there is no micro SD card slot onboard.
Processor and Battery
The processor used in the Oppo R5 is a 64 bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset as in the HTC Desire 820. This one is however clocked at 1.5 GHz. Along with this processor, the hardware department makes use of 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 405 graphics engine. However, the capabilities of the 64 bit chipset will get activated only after the handset receives the Android 5.0 Lollipop update that remains unconfirmed by Oppo. A 2,000 mAh battery keeps things juiced up in the Oppo R5 and it is claimed that the smartphone comes with VOOC charging technology that will charge the battery from 0 to 75 percent in just 30 minutes.
Display and Features
The R5 is fitted with a 5.2 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that translates to a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch. Well, it is clear that Oppo has opted to AMOLED instead of IPS LCD in the Oppo N3 is in order to make the device thinner. Furthermore, there is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating on the screen to make it strong and scratch resistant on everyday usage. Fueled by Color OS 2.0 UI that is based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. There are connectivity aspects such as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB OTG. The device carries the highlight of being the slimmest smartphone in the world.

The Oppo R5 would be a tough challenger to Gionee Elife S5.1, HTC Desire 820, Gionee Elife S5.5 and others.
