Display and Processor
The Moto G is given a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display that features HD resolution of 1280 x720 pixels that interprets to a pixel density of 326 ppi. Also, the Moto G comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to prevent the screen from daily wear and tear. Being an IPS panel, the screen will definitely deliver excellent viewing angles and contrast. The Moto E, on the other hand flaunts slightly smaller 4.3 inch display boasting qHD resolution of 960×540 and a moderate pixel density of 256 pixels per inch. Moto E also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Hence, the Moto G clearly wins the display segment with increased pixel density for improved clarity. On the raw hardware front, the Moto G tops the scale with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC ticking at 1.2 GHz teamed up with Adreno 305 GPU. The Moto E comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor. Though the latter comes with a dual-core chipset, the Snapdragon unit employed in it definitely makes it a better offering compared to the other handsets in this price range. Taking charge of the multi-tasking department in both the handsets is 1 GB of RAM that should be capable enough for smooth handling of multiple tasks simultaneously.
Camera and Internal Storage
The Moto G includes a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash (Can record 720p HD Videos) and has a 1.3 MP front-facing snapper at the front for making video calls. In comparison, the Moto E has a less capable camera set packing a 5 MP camera sensor at its back without flash (Can record up to FWVGA videos). As a downside, the Moto E lacks a front-facing camera making it impossible for users to make video calls. Hence, for those users who tend to make video chats frequently, the front camera’s absence should be a major problem. To meet the storage needs, the Moto G comes in two configurations – 8 GB and 16 GB of built-in storage space, whereas there is only a low storage of 4 GB in the Moto E. Aiding the low memory space in the latter is a micro SD card slot that supports up to 32 GB additional storage to address the demands of those users who store lot of content on their smartphones.
Battery and Features
The Moto G is given a 2,070 mAh battery that is capable of delivering an impressive backup of 24 hours of talk time. On the other hand, the Moto E is fueled by a 1,980 mAh battery that is also said to be provide a decent backup of one full day under moderate use. On the software front, both the Moto G and Moto E run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and they pack all the necessary connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and dual SIM functionality. Besides these traits, the Moto E carries the usual practice of Motorola and feature replaceable back covers in different color options.

Price and Conclusion
When it comes to the pricing, the Moto E bears a tempting price tag of Rs 6,999 that is almost half the price of the Moto G. Hence, there are slight variations in the spec sheet. Otherwise, the Moto E is definitely a good offering in the sub Rs 8,000 price bracket as many phones in that range do not arrive with such capable aspects. If you go on based on specs, the Moto G is of course the better one with a HD display, increased cores and more capable camera.
