The Iris X1 will be the first of its X series of smartphones, all of which will come run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and that is quite good. The Iris X1 in addition to that will get a 4.5 inch screen whose resolution is unknown for the time being but Lava might just make it a 720p unit to blow the competition out of the water. At the rear will be an 8MP snapper and that is all that we know about the device right now. The launch announcement comes right before Motorola is all set to launch the Moto E which is expected to replicate the success of the Moto G for Motorola in the entry level segment. As per the rumoured specs, the Moto E will get a 4.3 inch display and a 5MP rear camera without flash. And when you compare the X1 with the Moto G, it matches up to it in the screen department and betters it in the imaging arena on paper. We’d be in a better position to comment on it once we know all the specs of the X1 and Moto E. Indian manufacturers are surely taking the fight to the global giants and the winner of the same will be the average Indian consumer who will get more value for money spent. Moto E is about to launch and we’ll soon know all about the X1 too. The losers of this are going to be the likes of the Samsung and Sony who do not have such value for money offerings in their lineup.
